We are currently showing a record work backlog, with several major projects on the horizon. The EHT designer shall provide vital assistance in the detailed design of heated pipeline systems for a growing, dynamic corporation. The ideal candidate (Industrial Heat Trace Designer) will be able to analyze customer provided P&ID’s, equipment lists and instrument schedules as well as piping drawings (plan and elevation views) and specifications. They will have designed HMS (heat management system) piping systems in a commercial (not residential) or an industrial environment. The designer will interact with other departments such as CAD, Engineering, Panel Design, Procurement, Document Control, and Project Management in completing a project. The designer will have experience to create project deliverables such as Heat Trace Isometrics, panelboard schedules, and instrument schedules. The EHT designer will visit project sites or fabrication facilities, on occasion, to measure and assess piping and equipment to be heated and provide field generated Isometric drawings. Specialized training will be provided for specific design techniques. Responsibilities: 1. Interpret piping and instrument diagrams, piping isometrics, piping plan drawings, piping specifications and bills of materials, and area classification drawings as it applies to heat tracing applications. 2. Produce Design/modify piping designs and specifications based on information received from customers while ensuring compliance with Piping Codes and recognized standards. 3. Design heat trace systems using proprietary software. 4. Build and maintain effective working relationships with other functions and departments. 5. Provide technical support for field construction personnel from the office. Essential Experience, Knowledge, Certification: Technical understanding of piping materials, components, valves, etc. 5+ Years Experience with detailed piping design and engineering for oil and gas refining and petrochemical plant projects. Familiar with the codes and standards of ASME, ASTM, NIA, API, and ANSI. Be a self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented and a good communicator both written and oral. Contribute to methods of improving work processes. Be able to communicate with many groups. Learn and understand the affect of changes and notify key groups and contacts to resolve change issues. Experience with AutoCAD (is a plus but not required) and Microsoft office suite. Pipe fitters and Pipe welders with Heat Trace experience are welcome.
