The company serves customers with solutions based on all storage network technologies including SCSI, Internet SCSI (iSCSI) and Fibre Channel. solaris Driver Development Engineer (3108) DescriptionQLogic, a leading supplier of high performance storage networking solutions, has an immediate need for a Solaris Operating System FC/FCoE Driver Development Engineer, located in our Aliso Viejo, CA corporate headquarters. In this position, you will develop set of drivers/utilities to support FC, FC over ethernet for QLogic network/storage adapters in the Solaris operating environments, including OpenSolaris.. RESPONSIBILITIES:.1. Develop and support FC / FC over ethernet drivers and other software components to support the Unix Solaris Operating Environments. 2. Participate in all phases of development and support from requirement, design, coding, unit testing, benchmarking and support. 3. Work closely with the Asic, Hardware, Firmware, EVT and DVT teams on resolving issues during unit and integrated testing.4. Ensure that the solution passes the OEM qualification testing. 5. Provide necessary support with customers using this solution. 6. Be available to work at customer site if needed.7. Support driver integration into OEM environments.Required SkillsBS degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years related experience with 5+ yrs experience performing driver development. Familiar with Solaris/Linux driver development with kernel mode drivers for various technologies such as FC, iSCSI, and/or TCP offload required. Knowledge of higher level network protocols including TCP/IP and Unix socket programming also required. Experience in troubleshooting OS related, device driver and hardware level problems required. Ability to understand technologies such as SAN, FC and/or iSCSI required. Good communication skills and must be able to work in team environment.
