The Sales Technical Architect will be responsible for successfully scoping and designing projects that involve integrating salesforce.com with other systems and providing the high level design framework for developing custom extensions to the salesforce.com product. In this capacity the TA will be an expert in salesforce.com integration and extension, features, designing solutions, using the salesforce.com API, APEX and other tools that extend the product. They must be able to lead a technical requirements gathering session or detailed scoping session, write requirements, project assumptions and technical architecture designs. They also must be able to manage client/prospect expectations during the sales process and scope out the level of effort required of each project that is proposed. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Responsibilities: Leading technical requirements gathering sessions and writing technical requirements scope and/or documents. Leading technical design sessions and writing technical design documents. Accurately estimating the technical delivery of integrations and custom extensions. Establishing technical scope and setting client expectation. Providing expert level assistance to Services Engagement Managers for technical requests. Designing high level plans to ensure a quality solution is delivered. Ability to scope the delivery of integration projects using Scribe, Pervasive, Cast Iron and other middleware/connectors. Ability to scope the delivery of integration projects using custom code (e.g., Java, .NET, etc.) and web services.Required Skills/Experience: At least 1 year hands on development experience with the salesforce.com API. Completion of several salesforce.com integration and extension projects in development and lead technical roles. B.S. in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience. Client-focused attitude. A customer advocate. 5 or more years of experience managing external client projects in positions of increasing responsibility in the delivery of business consulting, systems development, and systems. Knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM, SFA, and ERP. Proven ability to design and optimize business processes and to integrate business processes across disparate systems. Experience with Enterprise Integration tools. Extensive experience with Extract, transformation and load tools. Demonstrated deployments of enterprise software systems using industry standard environments including XML, HTTP/HTTPS, Java, C++, and ASP. A thorough understanding of XML, SQL, and enterprise application integration. Work experience with a professional consulting organization (e.g., Big 5 consulting) a plus. Willingness to travel nationally (light to moderate travel). Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies. Critical Skills This is a contributor role requiring extraordinary client facing (in person and on the phone) skills with the ability to solve the clients’ needs and manage scope in a positive way. Must have strong time management skills and be able to organize many different client requirements that result in clear requirements, technical design and scope of work proposal.
