Location: San Francisco, CA 94010 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Description: Join the Technical Operations organization in the procurement department responsible for leasing and asset management. Responsibilities: PROCUREMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Submit RFQ’s to approved vendors for new HW, evaluations and SW Review and obtain management approval of quotes Create cases for VP approval of expenditures Create standard and blanket PO’s in Oracle Track & push approval process in Oracle Submit approved PO & documentation to Strategic Sourcing Forward executed quotes to vendor(s) for ordering Manage logistics including delivery target date, urgent order expedites & inbound tickets Coordinate RMA of damaged or incorrect HW with engineers/vendor/OEM Work with Business Logistics Manager to understand terms and conditions of contracts and renewals Work with Strategic Sourcing to: o identify opportunities for negotiation o manage and resolve vendor issues o implement quarterly project planning procurement strategy o source new suppliers in US market o participate in quarterly vendor meetings to improve relationships o issue PO’s for US contracts and renewals LEASING RESPONSIBILITIES: New Leases: Provide pre-procurement lease options to Tech Ops Management Review lease supplement(s) & verify HW serial numbers in Tech Track Asset Manager database Obtain VP review and signature of lease supplements Initiate revision of inaccurate lease supplements with Leasing Manager Communicate replacement serial number of RMA HW chassis to Leasing Manager Work with Leasing Manager and Lessor to initiate serial number swap-outs Lease Return Process: Request early & lease-term HW buyout quotes from Leasing Manager and initiate PO’s Download and analyze monthly asset reports from Lessor’s databases Terminate leases and track monthly invoices, MTM assets and returns Provide MTM financial reporting to Tech Ops Management & Finance Coordinate return of assets ending the lease with engineers Initiate PO’s for lease return shipping and replacement hardware Work with Business Logistics Manager to understand all new MLA’s, leasing rules and requirements ASSET MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES– Tech Track Asset Manager Database Work with Business Logistics Manager to assist with: o implementation of eFlow o monthly uploading of Lessor’s asset data to database o create new asset reports in database o resolve any asset discrepancies Input various asset information into Tech Track as requiredRequired Skills/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 3-5 years data center software & hardware procurement experience Intermediate use of Oracle or another SW procurement tool (i.e Ariba) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective vendor management skills Proven capability in taking initiative and delivering measurable results Desire to become a subject matter expert as quickly as possible Ability to apply knowledge and demonstrate consistent follow-through on assignments and projects Strong attention to detail in the areas of procurement, finance and leasing Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, work under intense pressure & tight timeframes and handle a high-volume workload Uncompromising adherence to process and ability to develop improved methodologies for procurement and leasing Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to support a team Understanding of SOX compliance requirements as applicable to procurement & leasing Thorough knowledge of major OEM’s and the following data center requirements: o Dell, HP, Hitachi, IBM, & Sun Servers and Storage o Cisco, F5, Force10, Foundry, Juniper Network Devices o Infrastructure, Cabling, Tools, Power Installation/Removal o Maintenance, Support and Services Advanced knowledge of Asset Management, Inventory and Audits Understanding of Leasing (including return process) and impact of procurement decisionsSalesforce.com is an invigorating and stimulating place to work.
