Windows Systems Engineer INTUIT

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for the support of various applications running primarily on the Windows platform, and requiring 24 X 7 uptime. Participate in the design and development of tools to automate redundant tasks, improve application availability and serviceability, as well as well as improve system response times and better scale to the businesses needs. Promote and demonstrate an attitude of teamwork and cooperation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support a 24x7 "always available" Production environment with a customer-focused approach
• Troubleshoot system and application issues, participating in a cross functional support and delivery team
• Perform system maintenance and support Production software deployments
• Maintain and monitor system configuration and data files to ensure data integrity
• Perform ongoing analysis of system and application logs to proactively monitor and detect issues
• Participate in a 24x7 issue support rotation (on-call)
• Participate with Product Development to design solutions that optimize system resources


• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Systems Administration in a production environment with 24x7 uptime requirements
• Java/J2EE experience required. JBoss experience highly desired.
• ASP model plus significant experience on large-scale, distributed web architectures
• Windows Server 2003, IIS, Apache TomCat, JBoss, DNS, configuration deployment of Apache
• Scripting in one or more of the following: PERL, PHP or Python, VBScript
• SQL or other database knowledge
• Expertise with current Internet Technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, XML, HTTP, DHTML etc.).
• Ability to work independently and coordinate problem resolution with subject matter experts
• Documentation skills to create and maintain documents
• Ideally candidate will have experience with UNIX operating systems (Linux, AIX) and/or Oracle
