Windows Admin
An elite Investment Management firm has an opportunity for a Junior Windows System Administrator. 18 people in the company20 client machines and 20 serversFlexible and collaborative environment!!! The Systems Administrator will work with a small team to support the company's computer infrastructure and help plan for future growth. The network is comprised primarily of Windows Server 2003 servers, Cisco and HP firewalls, switches, and routers, EMC storage devices, and Windows XP client computers. The company relies heavily on technology so ensuring the 24x7 availability of applications, servers, and data is a critical part of this position's responsibilities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Business continuity planning and disaster recovery - help design, test and document the company's disaster recovery systems, policies, and procedures. Work with vendors responsible for the offsite storage of company data and archived email. Manage daily backup/recovery tasks as needed. Previous experience designing high availability services and networks is a plus.
Remote connectivity support - maintain, monitor, and support Cisco VPN, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Outlook Web Access, and other remote access technologies
Application and end-user support - provide support for Bloomberg, Factset, Realtick, Advent APX, Advent Moxy, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007, and proprietary financial analytical tools. Programming skills and SQL experience is helpful for automating some of the data processing routines but is not required.
Network management - oversee the network environment, monitor syslogs, manage Active Directory, and in general, work to ensure optimal hardware and software performance throughout the company, documenting all issues as they arise and resolving them quickly.
Security design - help optimize company security policies, manage antivirus and email/content filtering, OS updates, etc.
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of systems administration experience and be able to learn new skills quickly as technologies and requirements change.

* Excellent troubleshooting capabilities
* Experience with MS Windows 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007, Microsoft Office 2003/2007
* Good understanding of network protocols and design
* 3-5 years of professional experience supporting networks in technically demanding industries
