Position: Web Designer
Location: Andover, MA
We are seeking a talented Web Designer to come “grow with us”. We’re eSupport.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Phoenix Technologies, LTD. This is a great opportunity to join a quickly growing company with a focus on eCommerce. In this position you’ll work very closely with our Software Development Team where you’ll be able to put your technical and design skills to work creating and maintaining websites that are seen by millions of visitors each month. If you can create web-pages that look great, and function even better, and know a thing or two about SOA, eCommerce and Web analytics then we want to talk to you.
Duties:
· Refresh, redesign and tweak the layout and graphics for existing web sites.
· Create graphics using Adobe Photoshop CS3, Flash, and other tools.
· Optimize existing websites including redesigning some to look and function better.
· Assist with advertising and promotions in newsletters, online and via email.
· Monitor and maintain web properties, manually and through automation.
· Modify eCommerce Cart adding in additional functionality or graphics.
· Introduce new web technologies and trends to put us ahead of the competition.
· Develop and add streaming content to websites using a variety of sources.
· Assume an ownership role of the company’s websites, take pride in their composition – we’ll depend on you to keep them looking great! Ensures web pages are functional across different browser types.
· Web system administration, including working with control panel software, managing files, keeping backups, etc.
· Be a team player, work well and communicate well with others.
Skills
Technical skills are more important than artist skills in this position (though both are always preferred), you should be able to dig into existing code and quickly understand its functionality.
· Must have web design and development experience creating and integrating graphics, text, video, sound, etc.
· Must be skilled in using graphic design tools such as: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator.
· Must have experience with HTML, XML, XHTML, and CSS
· Experience developing multimedia code graphics (i.e.: Flex, Flash, and animated images)
· Knowledge of web security methods and standards, site certifications, etc.
· Experience with browser client-side scripting languages (Javascript, AJAX, etc) a plus.
· Meet and maintain compliance of accessibility standards.
· PHP, MySQL knowledge would be considered a plus.
· Knowledge of source control also considered a plus.
· Must be creative and willing to come up with and propose new ideas.
· Must be able to work independently and work as part of a team.
Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years experience as a Web Designer
· Minimum 2-year degree Web Design or in a related technical field or discipline
· Exceptional communication skills
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Must be able to provide a portfolio demonstrating capabilities
· A ”results-driven” individual who thrives on setting and meeting goals
