VTAM SYSTEM ENGINEER

Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to, monitoring of VTAM and TCPIP ZOS systems, installation and configuration of ZOS VTAM TCPIP hardware and software systems, and the timely resolution of problems related to hardware and software.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate the experience and ability:To add, remove, modify, and change VTAM, TCPIP communications settings on ZOS Plan and participate on Disaster Recovery exercises for VTAM, TCPIP communication network for ZOS Monitor system use in a shared environment for capacity, utilization, and planning Ensure the provision of data integrity, maintenance and utilization of ZOS communications environment to identify and resolve server faults. This position is with a cutting edge technology leader that is the largest health insurance claims processor in the United States and one of the largest companies in South Carolina. Requirements: 

Candidate will be working in a fast-paced systems maintenance environment, which will require some level of shift, holiday, and/or weekend work hours.  Will also be required to carry an on-call cell phone and respond in a timely manner when contracted.

Must possess effective oral and written communication skills. Will be working in a team environment and must possess skills that will allow him/her to be successful in this environment, e.g., mentoring, listening, negotiation, taking direction, self-starter, work with limited oversight.

Required skills:VTAM installation/customization (5 years) TCP/IP on ZOS installation and customization (5 years) Connect:Direct(NDM) on ZOS (5 years) Netview installation and customization on ZOS (5 years) Enterprise Extender installation/customization (2 years) Working knowledge/experience in OSA configuration (2 years) NCP installation/configuration/generation (5 years) Working knowledge of SMPE, CA-Netspy, CA-TPX on ZOS Working knowledge of SAS and SMF records Advanced networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, Network Security, Enteprise Extender, APPN) Network CMC installation/configuration (5 years) IT experience (7 years)
