Position description
Currenex a subsidiary of State Street Corp. is theleading technology provider of foreign exchange and money market tradingsolutions for global financial institutions, funds, corporations and othermarket participants. Through privately branded systems as well as a globalelectronic communication network of FX price makers, prime brokers andintermediaries, Currenex supports real-time, auditable, online trading aroundthe clock in all currencies. We are currently linked to every major bank andfinancial institutions worldwide.
We are looking for a well-roundeddeveloper who will focus on GUI design and usability aspects of a MicrosoftWindows based FX trading application. The developer will also be required tohelp develop new features as well as support existing features. Theapplicant should have a solid command of, and extensive experience with VB .Netdevelopment and usability. We expect the candidate to have the desire tocreate user friendly graphical interfaces that are both functional andaesthetically pleasing. The applicant is expected to work individually,in small groups and with customers to develop application features. Anideal candidate will have experience with all cycles of product development,including specification, prototype, development, testing, deployment andmaintenance. This position reports to the VP of Application Development.
Minimum Qualifications
* Solid understanding of Client GUI design in VB.Net
* Experience with XML and communicating using a Webservice.
* Understanding of windows services and how tocreate them in a .Net environment.
* Working knowledge of database design, sql, C#and/or C++ ActiveX is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in the Financial Markets, Forexspecifically is a plus
* GUI and Graphic Design Experience
* Understanding of the FIX Protocol
Responsibilities

* Prototyping and development of new products.
* Working with Product Management to define productspecifications.
* Working with QA and other Development.
