We are actively recruiting for a Technical Software Architect (Java/J2EE) to join our office in Denver, Colorado. This position requires up to 25% annual travel. Position SummaryA Technical Software Architect provides knowledge and experience to support Technology and Architecture governance in software development at Fiserv.Job ResponsibilitiesA Technical Software Architect is responsible for:• Oversight for all software-related issues• Consideration of any constraints relative to software problems• Brainstorming about architectural solutions to software problems• Identification of established development patterns and approaches• Review and comparison of architectures and designs for various solutions• Determination of feasibility of various software solutions• Software research and prototypes (e.g. tools and technology)• Technology recommendations for the product roadmap• Design and implementation of re-usable software components• Support of technical questions relating to the creation of RFP responses• Presentation of technical material to clients• Work products related to any of these activities• Mentoring of more-junior development personnel• Architectural recommendations to upper management• Timely completion of activities as directed by the Chief ArchitectJob RequirementsYears of Experience: Typically requires 8 plus years experience programming/system analysis or related technical experienceSkills and Knowledge: • Architecture experience (overall): 8 years preferred; 4 years required• Knowledge of Performance Metrics, Component Models, Integration Strategies, Metamodels, SOA, MDA, EDA, UML: required• Development experience (overall): 8 years preferred; 4 years required• Knowledge of SDLC, Development Methodologies, Development Patterns, Web-enabled Applications, Inversion of Control: required• OO Analysis and Design: 8 years preferred; 4 years required• Java and related environments: 8 years preferred; 4 years required• Knowledge of User Interfaces, Enterprise Components and associated Standards: required• Java-related Development, Test and Profiling tools: 8 years preferred; 4 years required• Experience with Client Presentations, Technical Writing, Mentoring and Reviewing: requiredEducation/Certifications/Training: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirementDesired Characteristics/Competencies • Insurance Domain experience (overall): 4 years preferredPhysical Conditions/Required Travel and/or OtherPhysical Conditions:• Ability to communicate clearly, often through spoken means• Uses vision to view screens, create and review spreadsheets; requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus• Capable of using a keyboard effectivelyTravel and/or Other: • This position requires up to 25% annual travelThese positions are exempt.
