Technical Consultant- Presales
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate and present various I-many application offerings from a technology perspective to our clients and prospects. Articulate our current technology infrastructure as well as our future technology direction. Develop working knowledge of current and future I-many products. Support database and hardware sizing discussions utilizing in-house tools. Support performance/volume discussions using benchmarking information and/or working with third-party consultants as required. Support Application Presales team with technical support as required to develop utilities/scripts to aid in custom database development, database extracts to datamarts for BI/Contract Analytics demonstrations, develop enhanced demonstration capabilities leveraging technology in application presentations. Assist in documentation of potential customization requirements. Support Business Development teams in meetings/presentations with potential partners and/or industry analysts. Present and lead I-many technical vision presentations at Industry Events, Focus Groups, and I-many Conferences. Train & Educate other team members as needed
Other Responsibilities:
· Communicate professionally with customers via phone and e-mail.
· Responsible for installing and maintaining all sales database environments on hosted and client machines.
· Support I-many Proof of Concepts and Impact Analysis events
· Perform configuration and customizations as required.
· Work closely with Product Development and Quality Assurance to stay current with the latest product features.
· Escalate issues to Engineering and Support Management as appropriate.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure successfully product demonstrations.
Skills required include:
· BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
· At least 2 years Java/J2EE development experience.
· Demonstrated understanding of web applications development
· Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
· Hands-on experience with Sun Solaris, Linux and MS Windows platforms.
· Knowledge of web-based applications and related technologies and languages such as HTML, XML, JAVA, J2EE.
· Experience/expertise in Jboss, WebLogic and Apache
· Knowledge of relational databases (preferably Oracle server)
· Experience with Cognos/QlikTech Reporting Solutions
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
