Tax Accountant II

The Tax Accountant II is responsible for the preparation of quarterly state income tax provisions and assisting in the preparation of federal income tax provisions.  The accountant is also responsible for the preparation of state income tax returns.  This involves analyzing and reconciling accounting data, and preparing workpapers supporting these returns.  In addition, the accountant assists in the preparation of federal income tax returns and state estimated income tax payments.  The accountant assists in gathering information for state and federal income tax audits and responding to correspondence from state authorities. Also, the accountant completes other projects as directed by tax management and must meet deadlines.Required Skills - Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.  - Two to Five years' of industry or accounting experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills.  - Knowledge of federal and state income tax principles, and experience in preparing state and federal income tax returns and supporting workpapers.  - General knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion or equivalent transaction systems, processes and practices.  - Good to high-level spreadsheet and other PC applications skills.  - Ability to perform required tasks with minimal supervision.Preferred Skills - Masters in Accounting or Tax, or CPA.  - Previous experience in the high-tech industry in the tax area or public accounting tax experience.Disclaimer: This job description is for informational purposes, to describe the primary duties, skills and abilities necessary to meet the requirements of this position.
