Systems Administrator
EMIA is seeking a Systems Administrator for full-time employment at our dynamic and growing health insurance company. We are looking for someone who is not only strong technically but has excellent interpersonal skills and can effectively communicate with vendors, management, co-workers and end users. The Systems Administrator will be involved in the acquisition, aof servers, network and desktop systems at EMIA and oversee and support EMIA's contracted IT services vendor for implementation and maintenance. The Sysadmin will work with IT vendors outside the company as well as key personnel inside the company to resolve defects, measure performance and provide regular performance reports. The candidate will need to know how to plan stable, scalable systems that meet the needs of existing and future applications. Qualified candidates will be resourceful and flexible, and posses the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Other core competencies include:Â
• Oversee day-to-day network and server administration and support incl. backup & recovery, etc. •Manage and support external IT and software vendors •Propose and design plans for internal network and systems including upgrades •Monitor server infrastructure for optimal usage, performance and connectivity •Supervise the set-up of new servers using external vendors •Test hardware and software and participate in quality assurance processes •Propose, select, evaluate and and implement new technologies Required Experience: ? Windows Server 2003 ? Microsoft Exchange •Active Directory •DNS and SFTP servers ? TCP/IP Routing ? Network, Server and Desktop PC security Helpful Skills and Knowledge: •Health insurance claims systems: TriZetto QNXT, Facets, AMISYS, HealthTrio, etc. •Network management platforms like Nagios, OpenNMS, OpenView, etc. •GNU/Linux, Unix, Windows Services for Unix •Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Virtuozzo, OpenVZ, xVM, etc.) •Data warehousing & ETL •Full-disk desktop & mobile encryption technologies (TrueCrypt, PGPDisk, etc.) ? Content Management Systems: SharePoint, Alfresco, Joomla, Silva CMS, TangoCMS, etc. •Defect Tracking Systems: Bugzilla, Jira, Redmine, etc. •IT certifications such as: CISSP, LPIC, MCSA, etc. This is a full-time, exempt position.
