Please no Corp to Corp or Subcontractor responses.This Software Group builds technology for processing languages including proofing tools for Office applications. Please send in your resume with your language and linguistic skills for consideration of this position!The team needs someone to test new proofing tools (main focus: thesaurus).Primary Responsibility includes: creation and maintenance of linguistic test data for testing proofing tools such as thesauri, spell checkers, and automatic hyphenation. creation of expected results for thesaurus and other proofing tools performing various kinds of linguistic tests in order to verify the accuracy of these features analyzing error data and generating test reports logging linguistic bugs tracking regression of the products and technologyDeliverables: Various kinds of linguistic test sets expected results of thesaurus report of linguistic bugs through various testing report of various test resultsAssignment: 8/25/2008 ~ 11/7/2008 (with possibility of minor extension)This position is estimated at 3 months through Volt Technical Resources a member of the Volt family of companies and a publicly traded, nationally recognized leader in providing staffing and information services. Requirements: Required Skills for this Swedish Linguistic position include the following: Native competency in Swedish. Editorial skills for written text, including detailed knowledge of grammar (morphology), spelling and punctuation standards for Swedish. Experience using proofing tools (thesauri, spellcheckers) in either English or Swedish. Experience with other proofing tools (grammar checking, hyphenation) considered a bonus. Willingness and ability to work as part of a team to ensure consistency and quality of work required.General knowledge of personal computers, and the ability to install, upgrade and use Microsoft applications. Non-Technical Skills: Proactive and self starter. General investigative and problem solving skills and ability to track details. Good communication in English.Bonus Skills:Knowledge of orthographic variation across Swedish dialects. Familiarity with settings and features of Microsoft Word Proofing Tools a definite advantage. Use of Microsoft Office in an office (multi-user) setting and Share Point Portal Server. Experience using Product Studio and logging software bugs a definite advantage.
