Supervisor, Application Development - Reitmans (Canada) Ltd.
**7 positions available; new positions created within the department**
Manages the daily workload and schedule of resources assigned to their team.
Updates project plan weekly to reflect progress and produces a bi-weekly status report.
Keeps users informed of the status of their issues or changes.
Responsible for performance management and career development for their team members.
Monitors the status of the work in progress and anticipates any potential delays to the forward schedule - communicates that to the Manager Retail Systems.
Develops reasonable schedules, including the necessary contingency factors, to publish an attainable set of timelines to the users.
Reviews the workload of changes and problems to identify candidates for either pre-approved changes or root cause analysis.
Escalates issues to third party vendors (service requests) and ensures they adhere to the agreed upon SLA (service level agreement) with respect to response and resolution time.
Ensures that the completed changes or problems are accompanied by the necessary documentation according the the Software Development Lifecycle and Change Management procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor of MIS or Computer Science or related work experience
3-5 years in a software development environment
Knowledge of application software, technologies, development tools and processes for the relevant subject areas.
