Strong C++ Embedded Software Design Engineer in TestDescription: Strong C++ Embedded Software Design Engineer in TestThis team is working on their next embedded product. They are currently in the planning stage for this product and are in need of test automation and tools to test their product.This Software Engineer will be working on embedded servicing. The task is to ensure that after the product is shipped, the product SKUs are serviceable. To ensure this, the Software Design Engineer in Test will write test automation, mostly C/C++ (C# alternate) and test cases. There is an emphasis on reusing automation jobs from other teams.Position Duties:Main job responsibility is creating test packages, analyzing binary dependencies using static analysis tools and reading source code; there may be some test tools that will need to be developed. This position will be about 70% analyzing OS feature dependencies and authoring XML files to represent this analysis; 30% will be spent creating new automation to further streamline the work being done to analyze OS binaries.Additional Duties may include: Owning the testing for a feature area in new version of embedded product. Reviewing specs and other documentation associated with this feature area. Creating or expanding on test cases to test this feature area. Writing solid, clear bugs. Communicating closely with the rest of the team (Dev, Test and PM) as to the state of their feature area and raising potential blocking issues early. Gaining an understanding of embedded customers, their issues and concerns and applying this information to their test cases.One of the coolest aspects of this job is the camaraderie and small team atmosphere. The best part is the variety because the SDET will develop a working knowledge of many features; develop new technologies and suite of tools to address concerns unique to the embedded space.
