Staff Software Quality (SQA) Engineer

Position Summary:

 

Turbine is seeking a Staff Software Quality Engineer to focus on our growing internet-based initiatives. The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for performing all SQA activities on multiple concurrent projects and participates in the entire Project Life Cycle (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Release, and Maintenance) dealing specifically with Turbine’s multiple Web-based initiatives, including social networking and Web 2.0 functionality related to online gaming.

Essential Functions:

 

The SQA Engineer is responsible for creating test plans, documenting test results, and overseeing bug reporting and resolution for all projects. Specific duties include:

· Development and execution of software test plans and test cases

· Documentation of test results  

· Software Quality Evaluation

· All tiers of testing; manual, automated, front-end, back-end

· Load, performance, and functionality testing of new products/product features as well as regression testing of existing functionality

· Reporting bugs and tracking status through resolution

· Keeping team leads or other stakeholders up to date on project status

Requirements and Qualifications:

 

· 3+ years experience in testing web based software applications.

· 1+ years experience in back-end testing (command line, flat files, database loading/verification, reports)

· Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field of study, or equivalent.

· Solid understanding of multi-tier application architectures, software design, development, and SQA methodologies and practices

· Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

· Experience with web 2.0 technologies including social networking, CMS, and wiki tools features.

 

Pluses:

· Automation Experience for functional testing (preferably Mercury’s QTP)- a plus

· Gaming industry experience, especially MMOG experience.

· Experience with web 2.0 technologies including social networking and wiki tools Features.

· 1+ years experience with Linux operating systems

· 1+ years experience with C++ software development

· 1+ years experience with SQL, especially MSSQL Server
