We are currently recruiting for the following position at our facility in Raleigh, North Carlolina.

 

Sr. Test Engineer

 

Summary:

Perform complex testing and analysis tasks on High Speed Encryption products.  Design tests for the coverage goals of the Engineering Test group.  Analyze and review functional requirements and design documents.  Participate in defect management (both customer and internal) and report and track defects/enhancements using SafeNet’s tracking tools.  Develop a technical expertise on product functionality to train others within the SafeNet organization. 

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

Education: 

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent

 

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience in test, application engineering, system engineering or related fields.

 

Skills/Experience:Experienced in product test principles including development of thorough test plans, test progress reporting, defect management, and test reports.Knowledgeable and experienced in the resolution of technical problems whether they be internal or at a customer site; providing a strong technical supporting role to the engineering teams.Ability to work with-cross functional teams across multiple time-zones including Europe and AustraliaStrong written and oral communication skillsUnderstanding of Ethernet and/or SONET network topologies and associated network protocolsUnderstanding of the hardware and software elements that comprise of a network appliance.Use of network test equipment (e.g. Smartbits, Adtech, Digital Lightwave, IXIA)Expected travel: 15%US CitizenKnowledge and experience in cryptography principles a plus

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

 Technical focal point between SafeNet organization and OEM program manager and/or engineering team Testing of new software and hardware releases; troubleshooting and working issues with engineering/manufacturing/QA/OEM to closureTroubleshoot/Reproduce customer issues; working with the OEM and internal resources to derive a satisfactory resolutionPrepare and perform product training for Customer Support, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing teams.Support the development of internal documentation including data sheets, specifications, and user manuals Analyze system requirements and specifications to provide new product design recommendations

Scope of Responsibility:

Technical focal point between SafeNet organization and OEM; providing technical evaluations and inputs to team members.

 

Contacts:

Broad range of contacts including OEM program management and/or engineering leads; SafeNet quality assurance, customer support, manufacturing, engineering, and line management.
