Essential Functions: This is a Sr. Software Engineering Project Management position in the Network Appliance Write Anywhere File System (WAFL) engineering team; as a Sr. Project Manager you will participate in all phases of a product development cycle from a project management perspective.This job is all about NetApps crown jewel, the WAFL file system. You will participate in project management and tracking activities in all phases of the software development lifecycle from product definition and design, through implementation, debugging, testing, automation and release. Additionally, you will interact with and influence other Development and Quality Assurance, Program Management, Marketing, in support of that work. The candidate must be an experienced project manager who has been successful delivering Enterprise grade software through rapid application development methods.Responsibilities:- Define and maintain project schedules, drive activities, identify risks and dependencies and develop mitigation strategies, work with internal teams, and when necessary external partners.- Track tasks, risks, status, and schedules in a consistent and timely manner.- Report relevant status to project teams and engineering management.- Implement processes to reduce risks and exposure in all project areas.- Ensure administration activities emphasize efficiency and quality.- Escalate issues and concerns to engineering management in a timely manner.Education and Experience:Qualifications:Required Knowledge- Strong project management experience, planning, organizing, and managing software engineering resources to successfully achieve project goals and objectives, while adhering to project constraints, such as scope, quality, time, and budget.- Proven record delivering carrier-grade software in the telecommunications and enterprise markets.- Experience managing multiple geographically distributed project teams at the same time.- Familiarity with IPTV technologies - set-top boxes, video servers, and conditional access - is desirable.Required Skills & Abilities- Can build relationships, develop consensus among key stakeholders, and influence behavior.
