Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description:

The individual will perform software design and engineering of mobile business solutions in a professional environment   Responsibilities include design, development, testing, and post implementation measurement of applications.  Position requires an individual with a degree in software engineering design and development. Individual needs to exhibit the ability to lead in research, design, and development of business computer software systems, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Position also requires customer interaction concerning maintenance of software system.

 

Key Tasks:

The tasks include the ability to conduct and manage the design and engineering of mobile software solutions.  Successful candidate will be vibrant, highly motivated, display a strong work ethic, and be well versed in general business processes.  Additional key components of the position include:

  Performs complex product design, systems analysis and programming activities on applications software which may require some research Performs design, implementation and maintenance of single product modules/sub-systems Participates in product design meetings Prepares technical documentation of product sub-systems Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems Performs coding, unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits with high quality deliverables May assist in performing on-site client work on moderately complex applications Drives process improvement Acts as technical mentor to others Participates actively in and may lead code reviews Implements critical software or system changes Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Requirements: (Experience/Education Required) Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science or other relevant combination of training and education Typically requires 5-10 years of technical experience in product design and product support. Microsoft developer certification strongly preferred 1-3 years working as part of an Agile development team preferred (SCRUM) Experience with Test Driven Development preferred Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Development tools (.Net 2.0 or newer, C#, SQL Server 2005/2008, IIS 6/7) Experience designing & developing n-tier applications required Experience with .Net Winforms required Thorough technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation. Extensive experience in using relevant programming languages Excellent analytical and design skills at multiple product level Excellent skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation Thorough understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance. Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
