This position contributes to an established software testing team by providing relevant technical and testing expertise during the product development life cycle. The role is involved in testing new or modified software programs to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. The position will primarily focus on fixed asset software including the integration with other software products. Duties and Responsibilities: · Understand product area and target customer usage. · Review and provide input/feedback on design specifications. · Be solely responsible for testing areas of the program. · Create test plan for these areas, reflecting expected customer uses and environments. · Create thorough manual and automatic test cases for areas of the application. · Recognize and recommend features or scenarios that would benefit from using automated testing tools. · Execute the test cases in expected customer environments. · Interact closely with Product Management and Development to explore and resolve issues. · Use engineering judgment about what findings to report verbally, via email or for which to create detailed defect reports. · Report clearly on assigned tasks, and recognize and alert management of potential problems/issues in advance. · Correctly prioritize tasks so effort is focused more heavily on areas likely to cause potential problems. · Lead teams on assigned projects · Obtain a thorough understanding of the department’s testing processes and methodology and adhere to those policies. Required: · BA/BS degree in a computer or testing related field or equivalent experience · 5 years of software testing/QA experience. · Knowledge of networking in a Windows environment. · Knowledge of testing processes and procedures. · The candidate should have good problem solving and communication skills.
