Sr. Programmer Analyst TRANS WORLD ENTERTAINMENT is one of the largest specialty music and video retailers in the United States. The Company currently operates over 800 retail stores in the United States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and operates a retail web site at www.fye.com   You may know us under our brand names of F.Y.E., Suncoast brands, Second Spin, etc.  The company offers a wide selection of entertainment products, including CDs, DVDs, video games, boutique/specialty items and related accessories.  The company’s headquarters, along with its main distribution center, is in Albany, NY with an additional distribution center in Carson, CA. Trans World Entertainment’s Software Development Department is seeking a Sr. Programmer Analyst to participate in initial design requirements, develop project planning, conduct testing as well as documentation and implementation of systems and programs.  The position is also responsible for training other Programmers and ensuring all development conforms to Trans World Entertainment’s standard development life cycles and change control policies/disciplines. Additional Responsibilities: Perform detailed analysis and design of business application systems and programs. Data analysis, document process flow, define inputs & outputs as well as assist in project task planning Application Development of approved designs including; programming, job control, testing, debugging, documentation and user training. Participate in internal development tool training programs. User support, trouble-shooting, program debugging and testing as well as post-implementation review of new/changed applications. Implementation of planned system upgrades to existing software as well as installation and production scheduling of new software. Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Computer Sience or Infomation Systems or Technical School Equivalent .  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred. Successful candidates will possess at least 4 years of Computer Programming experience with 3 years of application design.  Retail application design is preferred. High level programming and design skills on IBM iSeries using RPG ILE required.  Experience with Island Pacific, TurnOver, PKMS, Nubridges, WDSc, HATS, and SQL are a plus. EOE Women/minorities encouraged to apply.
