Sr. Product Manager

Seeking a Sr. Product Manager capable of driving business planning, being an evangelist for products and serving as the product expert throughout the organization. You will need to hit the ground running, have strengths in driving cross functional initiatives & business processes and posses the ability to “get things done”. You should have an interest in web-based/SaaS products and up for the challenge of creating new and rebuilding old product lines.
POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for developing new and enhancing existing products and services to make our real estate agent and broker customers more successful. This requires developing and executing business plans that define pricing, sales, and support strategies to ensure the success and profitability of products and services. This position is also responsible for translating customer needs into business and feature requirements and working closely with both internal and external resources to deliver products to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Describe the essential functions of the position. List the general, critical functions that must be achieved to successfully execute this position.
· Drive business planning to define marketing, pricing, sales and customer service strategies to ensure success and profitability of products and services.
· Drive and refine product roadmap through research of customer needs and analysis of competitive products.
· Define business requirement(s) documentation to communicate product enhancements and new products to external partners and internal staff. Work closely with program management and technology to develop and introduce new features and functionality.
· Be an evangelist for products and serve as the product expert throughout the HouseValues organization.
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Describe the training, education, knowledge, or certification required to be qualified to perform this job. What type & length of experience is required? List specific types of skills or abilities necessary.
· 5-8+ years of software product management and related sales and marketing experience. Experience should include the successful launch of multiple product releases or projects. “Software as a service” product management experience a strong plus.
· BS/BA or equivalent required, may substitute experience on a year for year basis. MBA a plus.
· Demonstrated passion of interacting with customers and understanding their needs.
· Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
· Strong understanding of business process as well as technical aptitude.
· Experienced in developing positioning, branding and messaging that creates clear competitive differentiation.
· Possess a strategic mind with ability to “get things done”
· Experienced in managing junior/associate product managers is a plus
· Experience in residential real estate brokerage business or other independent contractor based business a plus.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES & REQUIREMENTS

· Regularly uses PC & phone equipment.
· Regularly communicates with employees and meets internally with key stakeholders on a regular basis.
· 10% travel as needed.
