Sr. Oracle Applications DBA

As a member of the Oracle DBA of Corporate Apps Team you will be responsible for managing Oracle databases and supporting eBusiness Suite/PS/Siebel Applications for TIBCO's internal business applications. You will be accountable for administration of multiple Oracle and SQL Server databases on Unix/Linux as well as Windows platform, and providing production support for above mentioned systems along with some other peripheral systems. The successful candidate will be expected to perform well with minimal instructions on operational projects as well as strategic projects.  Other responsibilities include:

 

-  Supporting groups during enhancements, troubleshooting and resolution

-  Solving support issues in a timely manner for assigned Service Requests

-  Focus on improvements in existing clone/refresh processes, Application performance monitoring and Proactive application monitoring as well as Build/Release migration utilities

-  Lead and assist in troubleshooting and fixing system/application issues as well as issues in tools such as ITG Mercury, Discoverer, 170 Systems, Outlooksoft etc.

-  Partner with information technology group to implement and support hardware, storage and networking infrastructure required for the optimum performance of the Oracle stack

-  24/7 on-call support availability for all production and non-production Oracle environments  (approx. every other week)

-  Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

 

Required Skills:

 

8+ years experience with the following:

 

• As an Oracle DBA; 6 years experience as an Oracle 11i Applications Database Administrator

• Backup, recovery, sizing, space management, diagnostics etc.

• Holistic tuning experience of Oracle databases, Oracle Applications as well as SQL & PL/SQL tuning (wait events, tkprof).

• Troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving Oracle errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization are some of the other important responsibilities.

 

5 + years experience with the following:

 

• 5 + Years with Oracle 10g Grid Control for proactive monitoring and the use of Oracle Enterprise Manager

• 5 years experience with Oracle 10g and 10g RAC in a Linux environment

• Maintain existing and establish newer security, integrity, controls in the application and database

• Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database and application management to ensure the security, quality, performance, and accessibility of the Oracle e-Business processing platform.

• 1+ years experience administering SQL Server

 

Desired Skills:

 

• Experience with CCC Harvest

 

• Experience in configuring PCP on middle-tier servers for performance and redundancy is highly desirable

 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written & ability to work in demanding and fast paced environment
