Sr Network Driver Engineer (3010) DescriptionQLogic, a leading supplier of high performance storage networking solutions, has an immediate need for an Ethernet Driver Development Engineer, UNIX. In this position, you will develop set of drivers/utilities to support FC over ethernet for QLogic network/storage adapters in the Unix (Linux/Solaris/Vmware) operating environments.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Develop FC over ethernet drivers and other software components to support the Unix (Linux/Solaris/Vmware) Operating Environments.2. Participate in all phases of development and support from requirement, design, coding, unit testing, benchmarking and support.3. Work closely with the Asic, Hardware, Firmware, EVT and DVT teams on resolving issues during unit and integrated testing.4. Ensure that the solution passes the OEM qualification testing.5. Provide necessary support with customers using this solution.6. Be available to work at customer site if needed.7. Support the effort to have the driver included in the various Unix/Linux distributions.Required SkillsBS degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of 15 years related experience with 5+ yrs experience performing driver development. Familiar with Linux/Vmware/Solaris driver development with kernel mode drivers for various technologies such as FC, iScsi, and/or TCP offload required. Knowledge of higher level network protocols including TCP/IP and Unix socket programming also required. Experience in troubleshooting OS related, device driver and hardware level problems required. Ability to understand technologies such as SAN, FC and/or iSCI required. Good communication skills and must be able to work in team environment.
