Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. US Citizenship required.

Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of fundamentals of mechanical design. Must have ability to read and generate engineering drawings to fabricate parts. Candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, problem solving skills, and computer skills with standard word processing/spreadsheet experience.  Candidate should feel at home working in a lab environment to assemble and test hardware.  Candidate must be self motivated and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.


Duties Specific to the Position:
The candidate provides support to assigned programs under supervision of the Mechanical Engineering Director. Under that supervision, the engineer researches, designs, builds, tests, and documents mechanical components and systems. Maintains and improves designs of existing mechanical, electromechanical components, equipment, and systems for integration. Applies sound principles and techniques of mechanical engineering.  Will also be responsible for gathering, maintaining, formatting, compiling, and manipulating technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Conducts tests and records data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Other duties as assigned.
