Senior Infrastructure Systems Architect - Job Overview

 

ATS develops a number of solutions for the photo enforcement industry.  We are looking for a talented individual to join our team to assist in recommending, designing, implementing state-of-the-art infrastructure systems in a data center environment.  This individual will work under the guidance of the ATS Data Center and Network Operations Manager to learn our suite of products and build upon them.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of robust networking experience combined with superior skills and experience in the following areas:

 

Candidate should have superior skills in each of the following areas:

 

· Network and Infrastructure systems design, implementation and administration experience

· Data Center experience

· UNIX, LINUX, Windows server experience

· Virtualization experience and blade technology experience

· LAN, WAN, Wireless, Cellular, Broadband, EVDO, PDA, and VoIP experience

· Program and/or project management experience

· Active Directory and Exchange experience

· Dell and SUN Servers experience

· EMC and SUN Storage (design, installation, performance tuning and system administration experience)

· Clustering and failover systems experience

· File system performance and tuning

· Managing and maintaining SAN infrastructure

 

Candidate should have experience in identifying existing systems deficiencies and gaps, future systems needs, recommending new systems, identifying costs, building business justifications and building technology roadmaps.  In addition, this person should posses a high degree of creativity combined with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and have a hands-on, "get it done" attitude. Candidate must also have a strong customer service focus and be able to work in a fast passed dynamic and growing environment.

 

Responsibilities

 

· Gain an understanding of the business, keep abreast of new technology systems, methods and platforms, investigate options, and make recommendations related to new and existing technologies which prevent and/or solve business problems

· Take a lead technical and project management role in the design, justification, and implementation of infrastructure systems for both the company’s internal IT systems as well as the externals IT systems and networks

· Foster a collaborative approach to infrastructure and network systems design and implementation.

· Ensure that the current and future infrastructure meets the companies current needs as well as allows for significant and fast pace growth

· Review, recommend, implement and test back-up/recovery systems and strategies

· Review, recommend, implement and test Data Center disaster recovery plans and strategies.

· Some systems administration and performance monitoring and tuning responsibilities for Network UNIX, LINUX, Windows, back-up, and storage systems

 

Experience Required

 

· 8-10+ years experience designing, justifying, recommending, implementing, and administering network and systems infrastructure systems in a Data center environment

· 3+ years of proven experience with diverse networks, virtualization and blade Technology systems

 

Hardware Familiarity

 

· Sun Server

· EMC and Sun storage

· Quantum (ADIC) I family of libraries

· McData and Brocade switches

· Cisco, FatPipe

 

Technical Competencies

 

· Network and Infrastructure systems design, implementation and administration

· UNIX, LINUX, Windows server experience

· Virtualization experience and blade technology experience

· LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless, Cellular, Broadband, EVDO, PDA, and VoIP experience

· Clustering and failover systems experience

· Dell and SUN Servers experience

· EMC and SUN Storage

· Back-up Strategy/Architecture (Veritas, Netbackup, Etc.)

· JumpStart

· Veritas Storage Foundation, (High Availability)

· SAN Storage EMC (Quantum) and SUN (StorageTek)

· Veritas clusters
