JOB DESCRIPTION:

Report to the IT Manager and serve as Senior Systems Administrator for North American IT System Operations team.  Responsibilities include but not limited to the maintenance, monitoring and support of all aspects of IT Systems operations, server administration and end user support. Oversee the planning, installation, control and maintenance of business-critical servers and personal computers. Interface with vendors, evaluate technologies and perform license management. Must be able to identify and resolve problems quickly and complete assigned tasks on time and under pressure. Sound understanding of VPN, SNMP, SMTP, and TCP/IP required.

 

Required skills and experience:

· Must have a good working knowledge of SOX 404 IT Control requirements as it pertains to IT Systems Operations, and experience with SOX control and compliance executions

· Must have in-depth technical experience of systems operations and server management

· Professional presentation, customer-service orientation, and can-do attitude a must

· Must have excellent communication and writing skills. Able to interface with users at all levels of the company

· Proactive and process-driven.  Willing to take initiative and lead by example.

· Well organized with in-depth project management and SDLC experience

· Minimum 6 years of IT background with strong technical implementation experience

· Minimum 3 years experience in a global 24-hour datacenter environment

· On-site and remote user support

 

Hardware and Software Requirements: 

MS Office XP, MS Office 2003 and MS Office 2007, Windows XP Pro & NT/2000/2003/2008 server/advanced server, MS Exchange 2003 / 2007, Blackberry Server, Fax Server, MS SQL Server, Veritas Netbackup, Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP, MS Terminal Server, Linux and Solaris System Administration, EMC NAS and SAN system administration experience, VMware ESX 3.x server administration experience.  Full working knowledge of all Dell and Compaq systems,including servers, workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices.  Sendmail and Bind experience a big plus.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, MIS, or CS or minimum 5 years experience of progressive technical responsibilities

· Manage and monitor IT SOX control executions related to North American systems operations to ensure on-going compliance

· In-depth knowledge and hands-on implementation of Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 server

· In-depth knowledge and hands-on implementation experience of VMware virtualization

· In-depth knowledge and hands-on implementation of MS Exchange 2003/2007 and Blackberry Enterprise Server

· Strong understanding & experience of Linux and Unix systems administration

· Experience with technical implementation of an enterprise software application

· Good communications skills and ability to work effectively as a mentor, team member, or independently with little or no supervision

· Strong understanding of Windows and MS Office applications

· Strong understanding and experience in Windows network administration

· Experience in NAS/SAN administration; Fault tolerance, failover, backup and disaster recovery

· Experience in hardware, software, licensing and support procurement & management

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong customer service focus and experience

· Mentor less-experienced Information System Engineers on system administration, procedures and methodologies
