We are actively recruiting for a Sr. Business Analyst to join our Support Services team. This position can work out of the following Fiserv Insurance Solutions office locations: Orange, CA, Columbia, SC, Worthington OH, Cincinnati, OH or Orlando, FL.This position requires up to 60% annual travel; typically travel ranges between 20% to 40% based on client needs.Position Summary:The Business Analyst works with clients to facilitate the implementation of software solutions to include requirements gathering/documentation, training and problem resolution research. The Business Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements while working under general supervision. The Business Analyst assists the development team, support team, and professional services team in understanding and implementing new functionality and with finding solutions for client issues on existing functionality. Works with Client Services to answer application questions and respond to problems reported by clients.Essential Functions/Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to:Conduct analysis of business goals, objectives, and needs of the business environment.Make recommendations to improve business processes. Assists in root cause analysis in order to recommend product/system enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for clients.Apply industry knowledge and expertise to guide client. Plan and run collaborative application design sessions with the client’s business users to help produce output documentation and guides.Prepare business specifications from which technical specifications are formulated.Develop practical and creative functional designs to meet the business requirements. Obtain approval from key stakeholders. Facilitate collaboration sessions with business users. Track project scope through careful requirements management.Analyze change requests and assesses impact.Complete necessary user training as a facilitator.Maintain detailed knowledge of existing functionality and features for the P&C Systems which are being delivered to our clients. Be responsible for acceptance testing of new functionality implemented in the product set to ensure that the software is functioning per the original specifications. Create or review project test plans and test cases to ensure they adequately meet the testing requirements of the project.Work from oral or written instructions and a variety of somewhat complex job specifications, technical data, and business documents.Perform other duties as required.Job Requirements, Skills, Abilities, Education/Certification/License/Training/Travel:Years of Experience:3-5 years experience working as a Business Analyst or in a related position. Requires previous insurance industry experience.Software industry experience – highly desired.Skills and Knowledge:Strong domain expertise in the P&C (personal & commercial lines) insurance industry or other insurance industry experience. Strong facilitation skills. Proficiency with desktop applications (Outlook mail and calendaring, MS Office applications). Working knowledge of business modeling, requirements and analysis & design disciplines. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Must be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are precedents. More far reaching decisions will be referred to the supervisor/manager.Multi-task, working multiple projects simultaneously as necessary.Ability to work independently. Coach, cross-train, assist or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.Education/Certifications/Training:Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, computer science and/or related; equivalent work experience may be substituted.Travel:Position requires up to 60% annual travel; typically it ranges between 20% to 40% based on client needs.Physical Conditions/Requirements:Position requires the ability to hear and communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
