Solutions Manager II
Solutions Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of multiple designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. In this role, you will assume responsibility for:
· Scheduling and managing the interface design and implementation process of selected vendor partners
· Researching, managing, and planning the growth of the on-going tax/technology relationships with partners in a way that ensures sustainable and repeatable competitive advantages for Vertex’s solutions
· Participating in software and solution sales cycle to demonstrate integration capabilities and differentiate Vertex’s solutions by demonstrating the highest level of professionalism during client facing opportunities
· Managing and scheduling interface development - Follow methodology to design, develop and test interfaces to Vendor Marketing Partners
· Documenting interface capabilities and limitations for Vertex knowledge base. Maintain ownership of interface knowledge transfer to internal and external audiences
· Defining support methodology between Vertex and partners
· Maintaining and advancing existing relationships - Coordinating partner planning to understand and forecast functional and technical requirements over the life of the relationship. Coordinating enhancements and new product requirements with appropriate Vertex and partner entities
· Developing strong working relationships with the Account Executives and Vertex Consulting
· Cooperating and collaborating on annual strategies, forecasting, communication and planning.
· Providing education through tools and training sessions that will allow Vertex Consulting to support full service implementation of partner integrations
· Assisting Sales Representatives through effective technological aspects of sales opportunities
· Demonstrating technical selling capabilities in alignment with the industry standards of competitive software and consulting firms
· Participating as Strategic Alliance and/or Sales representative on Vertex product teams as needed
We encourage individuals possessing all of the following minimum qualifications to apply immediately:
Work Experience
· 5+ years of experience managing internal, partner and contract labor resources
· 3+ years of full life-cycle project management/SDLC experience is required
· 2+ years of client/server and JAVA technology experience is required
· 2+ years of Web Service Integration and Deployments is required
· 5+ years of Relational Databases Technology is required - (SQL Server/Oracle)
· Experience with JD Edwards and Peoplesoft is required
· Previous work experience in all or some of the following roles is strongly preferred: Systems Admin, DBA, Developer, or Network Admin
Education & Training
· Four year degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
· Knowledge of Vertex products and API’s, particularly O Series VAT is strongly preferred
· Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills - required
· Professional appearance and presentation - required
· Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, time management and presentation skills
Work Environment
· Travel is required (approximately 10%)
