As a Software Quality Assurance Manager you will be leading a top-notch, global engineering team enhancing and improving our award winning Inventor product. Title: Software Quality Assurance Manager #65156 Location: Lake Oswego, OR Summary: In this position, you will be expected to apply independence and creativity to problem solving across project assignments. Responsibilities Quality Management. Knowledge of quality management methods, tools and techniques used to create and support defect-free application software that meets the needs of the organization. Experience in quality assurance activities for project implementation or product development. Expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques and standards. Interprets results of quantitative and statistical tools. Conducts and directs application reviews. Can describe techniques for motivating personnel to meet or exceed quality goals. Measurement of Effectiveness. Ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement. Monitors improvement efforts in quality and productivity. Is experienced in data collection, analysis and reporting tools. Can discuss relationship of key metrics in own function to metrics in other functions. Understands recognized industry benchmarks. Is experienced in defining, capturing and monitoring metrics for multiple functions. Can articulate approaches for using measurement to drive improvement. Project Task Estimating and Scheduling. In-depth knowledge of and experience with estimating and scheduling project tasks in multiple and diverse environments. Devise detailed project plans including schedule and resource requirements. Meeting Facilitation. Set the agenda for weekly project review meetings. Follow up with cross-functional teams on system impact and feasibility for tasks, nominations and issues raised. Participate in defining goals and fix targets for hot-fixes and service packs. Clearly communicate to all stakeholders on goals and get feedback on how their area might be impacted. Consult with system domain experts on affected areas. Team Management and Team Building. Experienced with leading and managing a variety of teams. Discusses alternative techniques for maintaining enthusiasm, energy and focus. Communicates verbally and in writing within team and across and up the organization to appropriate stakeholders. Required Qualifications Industry experience of delivering at least 2 major software title releases. Software development life cycle and project management experience. Working knowledge of object oriented design and object oriented programming. 10+ years of experience developing and managing software projects. BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (staff, peers and senior management). Excellent negotiation and consensus building abilities. Recognized for motivating and building high performance testing and software development teams. Formal training in software engineering or project management. Experience in Windows development environment highly desirable.
