Software QA Engineer

Responsible for defining and executing overall test strategy. This includes participating in designs to ensure they are complete enough to write quality test cases for use during development of the product. Primary responsibilities include ensuring high level of test coverage and automating test cases.  Develop an in depth understanding of Domain and users needs.
 Develop and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of PhaseForward products
 Participate in Design process with focus on quality, testability, product and performance test cases
 Assess and ensure high level of test coverage
 Create, execute, review, and revise test cases to ensure efficient and accurate testing coverage.
 Provide risk assessments of product quality and its impact to the customer.
 Create detailed quality assessment reports.
 Design automation tools to deliver appropriate test coverage for assigned subsystems using pre-defined components and frameworks.
 Write automation code for above subsystems using pre-defined components and frameworks.
 Update existing automation code to cover new features or bug fixes.
 Create and maintain test data or trials for automation and performance test case.
 Responsible for the quality of assigned product areas including automating tests where necessary and providing test results.
 Provide regular status and progress toward project milestones.
 Maintain quality system

  Education and Experience Required:
 BS required, Computer Science preferred or equivalent relevant work experience.
 4 - 8 years of hands-on software quality assurance experience.
 Familiarity with most, and expert knowledge of some the following technologies:
o QTP
o Load Runner
o Oracle
o SQL
o PL/SQL
o Visual Basic
o C++
o .NET (C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET)
o Windows 2000 / 2003 Server
o IIS / ISAPI extensions
o XML
 Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
 Experience in developing and executing both automated and manual test plans.
 Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out complex tasks with minimal supervision.
 Experience in software testing, test case development, and results reporting.
 Evaluation of design and planning documents
