Position Description:The manager in this position will lead/guide the software strategy and architecture for the WPAN group. They will be involved with managing existing programs as well as planning and managing new developments in Linux, and integrations with technologies such as NFC, GPS and WLAN. design and implementation for embedded Bluetooth Key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:• Lead/develop software strategy for WPAN group encompassing existing and new technologies and platforms.• Assisting with architecture of software platform to enable and enhance ability to develop and maintain software for embedded solutions• Working closely with Product Marketing to contribute to new and innovative product definition and roadmap• Managing and leading software engineering team, planning resource requirements, hiring, and evaluating performance• Developing schedules, task breakdown, monitoring progress, and managing risks/contingencies Qualifications:The Software Engineering Manager position requires a leader skilled in developing Software strategies and Architectures with reusable components for rapid product development. Successful candidate should have experience with the development of embedded software & firmware for wireless devices with a track record of delivering quality products to production. Ideal candidate must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. You must be highly motivated, driven, organized with excellent communication skills, and have experience managing a team of engineers. BSCS or BSEE and a minimum of 12 years experience in embedded software design plus at least 8 years experience managing and directing a team of talented development engineers. You must have a solid grasp of fundamental software development processes, test processes, integration strategy, and experience working in a fast-paced development setting. This position requires superior software design and architecture skills and the ability to see and explain the big picture. Project leadership and proven ability to plan and manage multiple simultaneous projects is required. Experience managing a development effort across multiple locations is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required with the ability to interface effectively with both engineering and product management.
