Position Summary: 

 

CPU Technology is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Software Engineer. This position is responsible for developing kernel software for embedded processors.

 

The Software Engineer will work closely with a team of software engineers, hardware designers, to develop kernel software and bring up real-time operating systems on processors. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in C/C++, kernel development, and have knowledge in computer architecture, processor architecture, and device driver.

 

THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A US GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 Design, implement, and maintain kernel software using C/C++ and assembly codeBring up real-time operating system for processorsDevelop and test device driversCreate regression test suite to test functions, usability, reliability, and performance of the kernel softwareCreate design and usage documents for the softwareConstantly review user feedback and improve the quality of the softwareWork with the software team to bring software products to the market



Required Skills:

 BS in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or equivalent3+ years experience in software engineeringExperience in writing efficient C/C++ code and familiar with OOD/OOP methodologyKnowledge of processor architectures and real-time operating systems, such as VxWorks, Linux and Green HillsExperience in kernel software and device driver developmentKnowledge and understanding of computer architecture and embedded systemsStrong debugging and analytical skillsFamiliar with variety of software development tools, such as source control system, runtime error detection tool, performance profiler, and testing toolTeam oriented and able to communicate effectivelyStrongly committed to meeting project milestonesSelf-motivated and capable of handling rapid change Willing to work in a dynamic and results-oriented environment

Desired Skills:

 Knowledge of GNU software tools and other open source softwareKnowledge of XML, Perl, Python, and makefile
