The Software Engineer will report to the Customer Sales and Service (CSS) Systems Manager and will be responsible for planning and developing new software for CSS applications. Primary work will focus on the Epiphany Sales & Service platform and implementing functionality to meet established requirements and project goals. Cross-functional stakeholders include Database, Network Engineering, QA, and Project Management teams. The scope of work includes all phases of the project life cycle including planning, development, testing and on-going support.Responsibilities' Work with the technology project teams to guide the design of new applications to support GSI business needs. ' Create and present solution alternatives.' Create architecture plans and design documents.' Develop and enhance CSS application code based on project documentation including written requirements, flow diagrams, UI design and data designs.' Participate in requirements definition. ' Assist in the estimation of work for the CSS projects by defining task breakdown, project duration and concurrent effort.' Assist in production escalation and problem resolution.' Function independently with project assignments and with minimal supervision.' Exhibit a process-oriented mindset. Qualifications:' 3+ years demonstrated development experience with Java, J2EE, JSP, JavaScript, and HTML ' 2+ years of experience with Call Center-specific application. ' Knowledge of SQL commands and experience with PL/SQL is required' Experience with and in-depth understanding of OO concepts.' Prior experience in CRM software application development, specifically with Epiphany 6.x Sales and Service module is desired. ' Knowledge and experience with Windows environment. ' Prior experience with and understanding of messaging services like MQ & JMS is desired. ' Experience developing in Perl is a plus. ' Experience in collaborative teams using revision control systems such as CVS. ' Strong attention to detail, good communications skills, and a positive attitude. ' Demonstrable experience managing dynamic projects on tight schedules. ' Ability to be self motivated and deliver projects on time with minimal supervision.
