Software Development Engineer - Payments The Checkout by Amazon team is seeking sharp, talented, and energetic software development engineers to help us meet our ambitious objectives. If you are looking for your next challenge, here we are!  If you want to do the following opportunities, we want to talk to you: Â· Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, deploy, maintain, document and deliver large-scale, highly distributed, real-time and management systems that are core to effectively managing the e-  commerce business.· Use Java, object-oriented (OO) design patterns, distributed Oracle databases and data modeling techniques.· Build and improve software and tools by translating business and functional requirements and problems into robust, scalable, and supportable solutions that support our Payments partners and   streamline the development process.· Work in an agile development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.· Mentor junior software development engineers.· Rich hands-on programming experience in Java and C++, using object oriented and responsibility-driven design techniques.· Non-trivial system architecture· Experience building and maintaining mission-critical enterprise software.· Practical experience with software engineering best-practices.· Working with customers and business to transform business requirements into  functioning software· A desire to harness and exploit the power of change.· BS, MS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or engineering field· 5+ years industry experience· Experience building real-time e-commerce applications
