Software Development Engineer - E-commerce Platform We're looking for ninjas: code-warriors who dream in streams, eat using fork, and considers static cling to be thread unsafe! If you constantly find yourself wondering if you can solve your commuting problems with just one more layer of abstraction, you're just the kind of developer we want. We are a small, but growing, team tackling high-profile projects within Amazon and we're looking for the next super-star engineer to help us succeed.  Ninja mask optional. Our team is building the infrastructure that helps other Amazon services safely navigate the frothy waters of the outside world. As part of that, we're creating tools for hardening, monitoring, monetizing, and "evolving" services that are being leveraged across the platform. Because our charter affects so many groups, we have immense organizational exposure and interest in our work, so developers that thrive in intense, focused, results-driven teams are encouraged to apply! Â· Strong OO language skills: We use Java but either C++ or C# experience is acceptable. Regardless of the language, you need to have been eating, breathing, and working professionally in OO for 3-5 years. You need to know more than just how to spell "polymorphism": you will be expected to construct good OO models and apply patterns in addition to producing copious quantities of high quality code.· Experience building SOA/Web Services-based solutions: We're building services, so if you've supported large distributed SOA architectures, we're interested. At a minimum, you should know that SOAP isn't for washing your hands and REST isn't what you do when the caffeine wears off, and be able to demonstrate that knowledge.· Quality-driven coding: Whether you are a devoted disciple of Testivus, a firm believer in TDD/ATDP/BDD/BLT, or merely obsessively write unit tests for your Lego Mindstorm creations, we want developers who understand the intrinsic value of well-tested software. If you've been writing sonnets to expound the multitudinous virtues of JUnit, then this may be the team for you. If you wrote haikus, this is definitely the team for you: but, clearly, limericks are out of the question.· Bachelors in Computer Science or relevant equivalent highly recommended: college letters don't guarantee good development skills, so we're willing to consider those without degrees.
