Software Developer – Java, Web Applications

 

We have an immediate opening for a software developer who is passionate about crafting elegant and robust software.  You must be able to take ideas and requirements and turn them into a clean, elegant, robust code.  In this position you will work closely with a highly talented team of subject matter experts, developers, and stakeholders to develop solutions for enterprise applications. You must be able to understand the software development process, web technology, and be able to work collaboratively.  The ideal candidate will have strong design and programming skills, as well as the following:

 

- Min. 2 years experience developing web based Java applications.

- Experience with Groovy, or similar language, is a strong plus

- Experience with SQL, RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), and database principles.

- Ability to accurately estimate development time, and work with stakeholders (end-user, developers, QA, management) to drive issues to completion.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with both technical and non-technical teams

- Exceptional organizational skill, detail-orientated with the ability to handle multiple assignments.

- Experienced working in a dynamic and changing environment.

- Ability to work under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with PHP, XML, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, or Ajax is a strong plus

- SysAdmin experience is a strong plus.

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (equivalent combinations of experience and education will be considered).

 

Location: Portland, OR

Type: Direct Hire/Permanent, Contract-Hire

Target Start Date: ASAP / 2 weeks notice
