Software Developer I
Merge Healthcare is a market leader in the development and delivery of medical imaging and information management software and services. Our innovative software solutions use leading-edge imaging software technologies that accelerate market delivery for our OEM customers, while our end-user solutions improve our customers' productivity and enhance the quality of patient care they provide.
The Software Developer Level 1 will take an active role in the entire software development process for Merge Fusion products including image visualization workstations, radiology information management systems, image archive and communication systems, and web-based portals.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS: Actively contribute to discussions of product definition and design Create time estimates for development assignments Design, code and unit test application software Fix defects and implement enhancements as recommended by the product team Participate in code walk-throughs and design reviews Assist Product Test and Systems Integration teams with the creation of software and systems verification plans and procedures Utilize a defect tracking system to track software defects and change requests Assist with resolution of customer issues that arise in the deployed products Travel (less than 10%) to other company offices to work with colleagues and to observe products functioning at customer sites
REQUIRED SKILLS: 1-2 years of software development experience using an object oriented language such as C#, VB.NET, C++, or Visual Basic. Familiarity with relational database concepts including database design and stored procedures Excellent communication skills Ability to work well in both individual and team situations Strong problem solving and software debugging skills
DESIRABLE SKILLS: Experience developing Microsoft .NET applications Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 network communication standards Experience in medical imaging, PACS, medical information systems or healthcare environment is preferred
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. in Computer Science or similar discipline required.
