Software Developer / Engineer

Description
This is a highly and visible position for a very talented Object Oriented Perl developer that will represent Berico Technologies.  You will be a member in a team of software developers/engineers to enhance existing architecture, integrate and tune all aspects of a robust information management system to maximize the effectiveness of intelligence data.  You will help upgrade current enterprise infrastructure to meet or exceed intelligence communities’ capabilities. 

The PERL developer must be familiar with information management, XML, and have had some exposure to relational database management systems (RDMBS) such as MSSQL. The Software Developer must be driven and willing to expand his or her skills and be creative and inventive enough to implement new techniques for greater efficiency and performance.  The Software Developer must demonstrate a high degree of problem solving ability and be able to communicate effectively.  This position provides much autonomy; the incumbent must have a self-starting personality and be able to manage with limited supervision.

Essential Functions
• Design, build and improve upon scalable enterprise applications for client within the Intelligence Community.
• Provide technical support for ongoing initiatives.
• Recommend and design technical improvements to maximize productivity through data exploitation and management.
• Drive projects from conceptualization through to successful deployment in an operational environment.
• Leverage software development expertise to bolster capabilities and performance of ongoing initiatives.
• Provide application architecture for integration of enhancements to development team.

Minimum Qualifications
• Must hold a B.S. degree in technical or mathematical field of study.
• 3 or more years experience overall working with software and database technologies.
• Experience with object oriented programming languages, specifically PERL.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well independently.

• Experience with XML, XSL Transforms and XQuery a plus.
• Experience with SQL a plus.
• Experience with Oracle and/or PL/SQL a plus.
• Experience with Java a plus.
• Experience of C# .NET is desirable.
