The Opportunity:
Position Title: Software Developer
Summary:
The Software Developer is responsible for the prototyping and development of medical imaging software products using MeVis' object-oriented, C++ based development environment. Responsibilities include the development of functional software prototypes based on specifications and clinical/customer feedback, software development and testing of commercial products and enhancement/improvement of existing development platforms. Technical areas include medical imaging and visualization, graphical user interface (GUI) design, server/client architecture and database management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop software prototypes for clinical/marketing evaluation Develop commercial medical software products based on customer/marketing specifications and clinical and technical evaluation and feedback Work with 3rd party companies to integrate MeVis software into other products and vice versa Participate in project progress meetings/design reviews and work closely with project leaders and management to ensure fulfillment of design requirements Test and validate select software modules and/or products Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Exceptional software development skills (preferably C++) with solid knowledge and experience in object-oriented analysis and design Experience in GUI design, OpenGL and/or DICOM standards Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT-related scientific/engineering field 3 years software development experience in an object-oriented environment Experience in computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and/or image-guided interventional procedures is desirable
