We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and experienced Software Developer to provide onsite, fully dedicated services for our client.  Our client’s environment is an n-tier .NET environment where the Software Developer implements applications that have been designed during the requirements / design phases of the project life cycle. The position is responsible for the overall design, development and administration of the SharePoint environment. During the project lifecycle the individual will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams of users, developers and QA to ensure successful delivery of key projects.

Founded in 2000, our client’s business model centers on creating, acquiring and licensing pure invention in a variety of technology areas.   Our client plans to commercialize inventions through licensing, spin-offs, joint ventures and industry partnerships.

 

Essential Job Function

 Responsible for assisting in the planning, design, configuration, testing and implementation of MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) solutions. Develop custom web parts and web controls for SharePointCollaborate with Business/Functional Analyst in analyzing operational procedures, identifying problems and recommending technical solutionsResponsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of applications for each project. Effectively manage the day-to-day tasks and activities to effectively meet the project deliverables and scheduleCommunicate effectively in both verbal and written communicationsAccurately track and report project task, activity, documentation, time information per project standards (i.e. daily submission, detailed accounting of activities, follow up documentation, etc.).Effectively manage multiple prioritiesPromote system reliability and efficiency by creating system standards and best practicesFacilitate the planning of component and feature upgrades, and plan and participate in scheduled off-hours service outage upgradesAssists with configuration management and deploymentAdhere to architectural guidelines and standards providedCollaborate with other developers and IT operation team to design and implement systems that will provide long term scalability, reliability, and performance for our client’s business systems.

 

Skills, Education and ExperienceBS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or demonstrate equivalent training or technical experience. 3 to 5 years of related relevant experience.Experience with MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) Enterprise Edition. Experience developing Web Parts, creating and publishing custom lists, workflow notification and API’s utilizing SharePoint Designer.Good programming, code development, code debugging and testing skills, troubleshooting skills utilizing SQL.Experience working within a .NET environment with an understanding of ASP.NET and C#.Good decision making and problem solving skills and experience with application projects.Understanding and experience of application coding methodologies and the SDLC model.Should be able to demonstrate a working relationship with groups within or outside of IT to help implement technical solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, usually without supervision.Ability to think creatively, work under pressure and demonstrate strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail & works well in a team environment.Thorough working knowledge of the application development and application integration processes, methodologies and their direct implementation to applications projects
