Senior and Junior Software Developer

APPLIED MINDS, one of the most unique companies in the country, has TWO open positions for exceptional applicants to join our fast-paced non-corporate environment.

 

Led by Danny Hillis and Bran Ferren, we are a small company based in Glendale, CA that invents, designs and prototypes breakthrough products and services for both industry and government. Our interdisciplinary group includes artists, scientists and engineers, with skills in architecture, electronics, mechanics, physics, mathematics, robotics, biology, software development, system engineering, and storytelling.

 

Applicants must be vibrant self-motivated unique people who also engage in interesting activities outside of work.  Strong technical skills are not nearly enough.  You should also be a voracious learner, creative thinker, storyteller, and independent adventurer who enjoys working on cutting edge prototype technology in a broadly mixed development environment. Polymaths and multi-disciplinary individuals are a plus and will mesh well with AMI colleagues.

 

Determination of Senior or Junior level Software Developer candidates will be based on assessment of relative experience and expertise in these criteria:

  Comfortable developing Windows applications in C++/ATL/WTL/Win32 Knowledge of C# / .NET / Java / Python a plus Able to design/develop/debug complex multithreaded applications Comfortable working independently and in small teams Experience or desire to learn Image Processing, Computer/Vision, and Visualization SR Developer: BA/BS plus 7 years experience, MS with experience preferred JR Developer: BA/BS plus 3 years experience, MS with experience preferred
