Senior WebSphere Developer/Lead

Our client is seeking a Sr. WebSphere Developer/Lead with Strong Commerce experience to oversee other developers as well as develop, modify and maintain applications, applets, portlets, skins, templates and RSS feeds, web services and other components used within their WebSphere Commerce Implementations.

 

In this role you will:

 Work with Business Analysts, Commerce Administrators and others to understand Commerce Development needs and develop written requirements and programming specificationsDesigns and codes all three layers; User Interface, business logic and database interaction, as required for commerce based applications, including “skins” templates, custom content and PortletsWorks within established development standards and tools suiteDevelops store front pages Creates a new views Provides access control for views Uses proper development techniques for creating cached pages Maintains store text and property files Creates store pages that support globalization Handles errors in store pages Describes the provided business models Modifies store flowsRegularly uses the following in development efforts::XML technologies J2EE architecture Rational Application Developer SQL and relational database concepts J2EE development including JSP, JSTL, Java Beans, EJBs, etcProvides suggestions regarding site usabilityWorks with and modifies the database structure as required to support development projectsCreate and configure payment plug-ins Extend the persistence layer Enforce access control in commands Create and extend commerce commands Handle errors in commerce commandsIntegrate with other systems Implement web services Configure support for MQ Series Supports SOX compliance by maintaining the environment within established guidelines and participating as requested in annual and other auditsMaintain housekeepingComply with safety rulesComply with environmental regulationsBe aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Willingness to learn and understand Interface's commitment to sustainabilityPerform other duties as assigned



Skills and experience:5+ years IT related field experienceExcellent problem solving skillsExcellent communications skills, both written and verbalThe ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines Excellent customer service skills and the ability to pull together diverse working teamsExcellent knowledge of and experience with four or more of:

o  WebSphere Commerce V6

o  WebSphere Portal V6

o  WebSphere Application Server V6

o  Advanced Java programming technologies used in web development

o  Web integration technologies such as SOAP and RSS

o  User Interface design and application usability

o  Advanced use of IBM’s Rational development toolsMust be a self starter with the ability to work both independently without supervision and in a team environment. May require up to 20% travel High School Diploma (Required)IT Technical School Graduate or College Degree (Preferred)
