This position is based in South San Francisco and reports to the Director of Internet Technology.

 

Responsibilities:Build new features and products on an interactive consumer-facing social media applicationRecommend and execute changes to improve the site’s valueEmploy elegant code designAnalyze traffic patterns and identify opportunitiesStay abreast of the latest advances in web technology and trends in social mediaImprove performance and extend scalability while supporting millions of requests per day.Maintain test coverage for all application functions.

 

Qualifications:3+ years of server-side coding experience, preferably with Python, but Ruby, Java, or C++ will also be considered.2+ years of browser scripting experience (Javascript/AJAX)Experience with high volume web applicationsObject-oriented programming skillsGood Computer Science fundamentalsSolid knowledge of relational databases and SQLExcellent problem solving abilityStrong understanding of W3C-compliant HTML/XHTML and CSSPlusses:  Django, MySQL experience
