Position Title:     Sr. Tivoli Systems Engineer

Position Type:      Contract (with possible hire)

Duration:           15+ months

Location:           Lanham, MD (Washington, DC Metro Area)

Start date:         Immediate

Compensation:       $90/h (corp-to-corp or 1099)

Project type:       Federal (IRS)

Years of Expertise: 10 or more

 

The candidates must be:

- US Citizens or GC holders only. No exceptions.

- Able to obtain MBI security clearance.

 

Task Description:

- Minimum Experience: 4+ years of IBM Tivoli experience managing a complex Tivoli enterprise management system including implementation, management, maintenance and administration of Tivoli enterprise class applications.

- Candidate need to be able to provide subject matter expertise in the following areas: IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.1, IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager, creating software packages using Tivoli Software Distribution 4.2 to automate the installation of various COTS packages and Custom Code.

- Troubleshoot and support Tivoli Framework 4.1, Tivoli Enterprise Console 3.9 and related software.

- The candidate must be experienced in managing Sun Solaris UNIX, NT4, W2K and W3K operating systems.

- The candidate must also know how to create and maintain Shell and Perl scripts for Solaris and bat files on Windows systems.

- The candidate must have experience modifying eTrust directory schema in support of design/development project in support of application development efforts.

- The Candidate must have excellent communications skills and will be required to mentor and train staff members on the system administration of the Tivoli framework and applications.

- Occasional travel to IRS facilities in West Virginia, Michigan or Tennessee may be required.

- Some shared on call and off shift responsibility is expected.

- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation is a plus.

- IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.x

- IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager

- Tivoli Configuration Manager 4.2

- Solid Operating System management skill in both Unix and Wintell environments

- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

 

Statement of Work:

The Infrastructure Shared Services (ISS) program is responsible for building and delivering an infrastructure that is scalable, interoperable, flexible, manageable, and features standardized operations and a single security and enterprise systems management framework.

This infrastructure will enable IRS to deploy modernized business systems and integrate with the current processing environment to support data access, web based service delivery for taxpayers, third parties, and internal users, and do so in a fully secure and optimally managed operational environment.

The ISS program is responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to projects with a level of support services that will enable the projects to use the common, integrated, and shared infrastructure.

The ISS program’s goal is to deliver an enterprise approach for a fully integrated shared information technology infrastructure to include hardware, software, shared modernization applications and data, telecommunications, security and enterprise approach to systems and operations management, and an enterprise approach to software development and testing.
