Senior Technical Writer

Job description:

Paragon Application Systems, the leading global provider of electronic payment (ePayment) system test software, is currently seeking an experienced technical writer.

 Paragon’s legacy print documentation has been developed in unstructured FrameMaker and the successful candidate would be engaged in developing single-sourcing (using FrameMaker and Madcap Flare) to produce PDFs, HTML, and context-sensitive help deliverables.

The environment at Paragon is fast paced, yet low key. The technical writers work closely with the development team, but may be required to work on Web site content, sales collateral, departmental procedures, and training materials.  Requirements:

· 4 or more years experience in technical writing, preferably writing software documentation and designing context-sensitive help

· Strong technical writing and editing skills with the ability to write, revise, edit, and index software documentation and online help

· Ability to assume project ownership and to independently ensure the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of deliverables  

· Ability to learn and adhere to house editorial style

· Ability to work collaboratively with both SMEs and other writers  

· Analytical thinker, highly detail oriented

· Excellent interpersonal and (verbal and written) communication skills

· Experience using Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, and Madcap Flare  Additional Desired Skills and Experience:

· BA/BS in technical writing or similar field

· Familiarity with financial industry

· Familiarity with Chicago and Microsoft style guides

· Experience developing training materials

· Experience developing demos or tutorials using Captivate or Camtasia

· XML  experience
