Senior TIBCO Architect

Summary of Responsibilities

Develops and executes enterprise integration strategy and supports strategic system development initiatives. Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Develops enterprise-level application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features.

Essential Job Functions

* Assists in the planning, design and architect phases of software or hardware product development. Identifies, evaluates, and recommends solutions using advanced architectures and technologies to facilitate rapid development and implementation
* Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers
* Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business
* Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes, either individually or in concert with project team
* Assists in the most difficult support problems
* Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code re-use
* Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business
* Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent
* Understands business needs as well as customer and market requirements
* Applies creativity, in-depth technical and theoretical knowledge, and experience in solving highly complex architectural design problems
* Recommends new technology directions or options to maintain products competitive advantages
* Communicates technology design and any related issues to technical and non-technical audiences including customers and technical partners
* Prepares and documents product architecture plans
* Provides formal architectural reviews and design mentorship to senior development staff
* Identifies technical risks and help to define a risk mitigation plan
* Responsible for mentoring senior developers for best practices in software development, object oriented design, design patterns and application frameworks
* Increases and maintains proficiency as an "Industry Expert" on application development technologies, methodologies, and concepts

Experience and Educational Requirements

* BA/BS in Computer Science or other 4 year technical - MSCS preferred
* Minimum 7 years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible information technology experience in architecture and design
* 3+ years of experience implementing EAI solutions with TIBCO software (BusinessWorks, EMS, Hawk, Adapters, Administrator)
* 5+ years experience in enterprise application integration
* 5+ years experience with XML, XSD, XSL, XSLT
* 3+ years experience in Service Oriented Architecture development
* 5+ years experience application development utilizing Oracle database
* 3+ years experience in Java development
* Architectural experience across OS (Windows, UNIX, Linux)
* Service definition design and implementation using WSDL and SOAP
* Experience in enterprise-level system architecture and design
* Experience in architecting highly available and fault tolerant applications
* Experience in architecting an exception handling framework
* Experience with CVS or other code repository tool
* Energy industry experience a plus
* Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
* Assist and mentor team members in project deliverables
* Strong documentation skills
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams and clearly communicate technical details to a non-technical audience
