Senior Systems Engineer- Windows

This person will be a member of team that manages Win2K / Win2K3 servers, and will help design, deliver, and support the next generation Microsoft infrastructure. The team also supports Active Directory, LDAP directory services, DNS, WINS, DHCP, file and print, SQL, application servers (such as Web Logic), Exchange 2003, LCS, NetIQ, VMware, and various collaboration systems on HP hardware, plus SAN and NAS from different vendors.

Primary Responsibilities

· Work with team members in implementing, securing, maintaining and supporting Windows based services, including AD, WINS, DHCP, DNS, SQL, ISA, IIS, and Exchange. 

· Work with team members in implementing and supporting VMWare Virtual infrastructure. 

· Work with team members in implementing proactive server monitoring, performance monitoring, and application tuning using the corporate tools, such as NetIQ.

· Assist team members in implementing high-level global projects.

· Help provide “follow-the-sun� server support across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

· Provide 3rd line support to Desktop Support team members and on-call support.

· Heavy scripting responsibilities in relation to automation of server tasks.

Qualifications

· Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

· Strong customer service skills to deliver quality results in a demanding environment

· Individual must interact extensively with all levels of management, business and IT, and is required to act in a professional and confident manner.

· Good understanding of processes around IT Service Management

· Self motivator possessing a high sense of urgency and a high level of integrity

· Experience with Windows 2003 servers in a mid- to large-size production environment

· Administration and engineering skills for all Windows services including AD, WINS, DNS, DFS, and DHCP

· Thorough knowledge of Windows security policies.

· Some knowledge of application packaging products (e.g. Install Shield / Wininstall / Wise etc)

· Demonstrates previous experience in a senior server engineering and support role.

· Strong knowledge in VBScript, VB.NET

· Some knowledge of MSSQL Stored procedure and SQL Reporting Services

  o Citrix MetaFrame and Terminal Server
  o NetIQ and CIM

  o Must have very strong VB Scripting/programming background – MUST HAVE
