A dynamic and growing Top 20 Public Accounting firm seeks senior-level, IT Infrastructure professionals a Systems Engineers role.

 

The Senior Systems Engineer will report to and receive instruction from the Director of Systems and IT Operations.  The Senior Systems Engineer is the immediate supervisor to Systems Engineers, IT Operations Supervisors and IT Operations Administrators.  This position holds responsibility for maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting the firms' Networks (WAN/LAN) and Communications Systems. Responsibilities also include monitoring, configuring and supporting infrastructure Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Accelerators, and Firewalls.  Assist with upholding Security, Performance and Integrity throughout technical systems enterprise.

 

Specific Job Duties:WAN/LAN NetworksResponsible for server technology (monitor, upgrade, install hardware)Maintain network OS (MS 2000/.NET)Maintain hubs, routers, switchesAssist with infrastructure design and changesCommunicationsManage service providers (monitor QWEST, Verizon, DSL providers firm-wide)Monitor FRAME (WAN); DLS pipes for each officeMonitor/upgrade DATA PRI'sManage wireless (internal and external) support and maintain accessSecurityMonitor and maintain network/communications security implementationAssist with enforcing policies and procedures affecting securityDisaster Backup StrategyMonitor backup policiesMaintain up-to-date procedures and plan for each officeELITE PlatformMaintain/support/upgrade hardware server platformServe as internal technical support contact for ELBS, ERMS, ECMS, APEX, ERPSRemote AccessResponsible for CITRIX PlatformManage RAS (remote access) serversWork with clients regarding configuration for staff to use external networksSystems Engineers / IT OperationsSupervise and mentor appropriate staff in each officeHelp DeskMentor appropriate staff in each officeDirectly responsible for Bethesda Help Desk staffEvaluateEvaluate new technologies and stay current on trends.Enterprise-wide SupportServe as on-site monitor/installer of existing and new technologies at all offices

Essential Experience: (special skills and experience, licenses, certifications, and education)BS Degree, Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.  Ideal candidate has a MS Computer Information Systems, MCSE Certification along with a CCNA (or similar) certification.7+ years of experience in computer networking / systems engineeringAble to multi-task in face pace environment and manage time effectively.Ability to be flexible with work schedule hours; able to work Saturday's during tax season. Ability to travel between offices, as required.Excellent communication (written and verbal) and customer service skills. Ability to effectively communicate solution and resolution information to end users.Always demonstrate integrity, both at work and outside of work.Ability to handle issues involving confidentiality and discretion in a mature professional manner.
